February 10, 1956 - Professor Chai Li Zhong

 Professor Chai Lizhong

Today’s Hong Kong music industry is all about Hunan and Chai Lizhong.  I would dare to say that Hunan places itself on a pedestal.  In the case of Sir Chai Lizhong, there’s no pedestal.  He is humble and polite to others.  I didn’t have a chance to learn music because the chances of making money at it are very limited.  However, he was very helpful to me.  Today, I brought him a chicken.  He was taking a bath when I arrived but he came out quickly.  We had some polite conversation.  When I was leaving, he watched until he could no longer see me.  At one point, I turned back and saw he was still watching me.   There’s a feeling In my heart that I can’t describe.  I want to pay tribute to him.  He’s one of the most famous figures in the Hong Kong music industry today.  I don’t know if he just treated me this way or if it’s how he treats everyone.  He is humble and courteous.  It is really his virtue.
