Jan. 19, 1956 - For The Purpose of Learning English

Ever since last week, I started searching for a local tutoring center for English. I visited many places but never found one suitable because a majority of them didn't have accurate pronunciation, so I didn't want to learn from them. The day before yesterday, I heard from Mr. Wang Ke Jen that there's a place in Kowloon run by a Shanghai-nese that had good pronunciation and teaching, even though their fee was a bit high. This morning I went there and met Mr. Wang who was Shanghai-nese. He used to work for the postal service and he graduated from John school in Shanghai. We briefly talked about tuition and schedule till about 12:15. On the way back, while talking with Wang Ke Jen, I realized I needed a bicycle. So when I got back, I phone Li Wen Shou to borrow his bike. Mr. Li is my friend from when I was a pottery worker in 1951 in Kowloon Tan Mountain. Now he works in a textile factory, and this bicycle he has was given to him broken from another friend, which he has since fixed. Even though it's not very good looking, it fits my needs for now. In the evening there is a slight drizzle, and quite chilly. So in order to attend the training class for Dr. Billy Graham's crusade, I had to leave early to attend.
