Jan 29, 1956 - Bishop Li Lunhan

Bishop Li Lunhan

Message by Bishop Hanns Lilje. D.D. President of the Lutheran World Federation.

Today is the first Sunday for us to exchange sermons between Hung Hom Hall and

North Point Hall. Mr. Sun Peigen came to Hung Hom, while Mr. Li Chaoran went to

North Point. At 2: 30 p.m., I took a bicycle to Mr. Liu Shuming in Lower Ngau Tau

Kok Estate Phase VII. Here, several brothers and sisters who love the Lord got

together by themselves. And today, they invited me to come and preach to them. It is

not an easy thing to see over 10 saints for the first time gather together on this hill! Of

course, more people will come here to worship with us in the future.

Five o'clock is a special Sunday worship time. Because Dr. Li Lunhan came to Hong

Kong, and Dr. Li is a bishop of the Lutheran World. It is truly a rare thing for him to

have this opportunity. Therefore, a special worship was held in Kowloon Methodist

Church, which had just started when I arrived at the church. The worship was

sponsored by Dr. Fu Xin. The seminary choir sang hymns, and most who attended the

worship meeting were preachers, church deacons and elders. There were many people

like this at the meeting, and I knew many of them. So, when we came out after the

meeting adjourned, everyone felt very happy.

For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction. For the gate is

narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

– Jesus (Matt 7:13-14 ESV)
