February 18, 1956 - King of Kings

King of Kings”

This hall has a film screening scheduled every third Saturday evening but, because it was being used for preaching by Wan Petli, the movie was  postponed for a week.   Today’s movie will replace the regular sermon.  At noon, Mr. Lin sent the movie projector along with a note to remember to take care of the evening’s work in the afternoon so I made a few visits nearby.

At 7:30, the party began.  It’s good!  The room is full of people.  The movie projector starts.  “King of Kings” is being shown again.  This is probably the 10th time I’ve seen it.  Every time I see it, it touches me in a way I can’t describe.  It seems to touch everyone who sees it.

“King of Kings” is about the birth of Jesus and his work in the world: how he cured the sick, how he treated children, how he was betrayed, his resurrection after death and his ascent to Heaven.  It is the most successful religious movie ever made.  The movie is over two hours long.  It’s exciting and heroic.  Everyone who saw it raised their hands in praise.  I wish everyone would call Him King.
