I’m obliged to English teacher Miss Huang
I’ve been studying English in Kowloon for the past month. Yesterday, the Ministry of Transport advised of a failure on my way to class. A classmate, Miss Huang Kang Long, introduced her sister who could teach English to me and John Xie. That’s almost too much to ask for! Not only did we get the best teacher but we didn’t have to hand over any money and it doesn’t take much time.
At 5:00 pm, Huang Long came back ready to start class. Xie Yunhan was there waiting for me when the time came. We both started quickly. Miss Huang taught us very carefully, first having us recite the first new word then explaining it’s meaning to us. On the way home, Mr. Huang told us about reading English. He speaks from experience and said that Mr. Ma had been in deep study of English with him for three years. He has worked hard so, today, he can read newspapers and letters. All it takes is persistence.
