The Third Hong Kong Xinyi General Meeting
Today is the third Hong Kong Xinyi General Meeting. This is the first time I’ve participated. Although it was my first time, because the people and things are familiar, I don’t feel out of place. The conference began as if it were a war of tension. It started with a formal discussion. No one would give others a chance to speak. Some people did not follow the rules of the general assembly and the order of the meeting was lost.
The chairman, Penghu, is also the oldest. Sometimes a person does not raise his hand to speak in accordance with the rules of the general assembly. I couldn’t find a chance, then I saw the bad situation. I asked the chairman to clarify and enforce the rules.
There are two things that I saw in today’s meeting that particularly disgruntled me. First: some people in the group did not follow the rules of speaking and it destroyed the flow of the meeting. Second: there are Western countries “gentlemen” who looked down on our proposals and poor language skills. They say John is a child whose ideas aren’t worth considering. Where does this come from? No other pride can look down on fellow Chinese.
In addition to all the missionaries, there are various church representatives. A lot of things can’t be helped by parishioners of course. It will be changed later.
