The first day of March
Today is the first day of the month. The next thirty days are a mystery. It’s really not easy today. I didn’t go out in the morning. I wrote many church letters at work then went visiting in the afternoon. I went first to Diamond Mountain. On the way, I met Mr. Tong An. He is a cartoonist. Although we have met several times, we hadn’t talked much. Today, I walked with him and told some jokes. We tried to visit a church friend but didn’t know the address so, instead, we found and visited a Buddhist residence. There were grasses, trees and birds. It’s a really good place to live. There are many good places for Buddhism in Hong Kong.
Tonight, my classmate, Yan Qi Lip, came to me and asked to borrow money. Oh, my God! I just got paid yesterday. After setting aside money for living expenses and repayment, I had to go to three friends to borrow thirty yuan. I felt helpless. I could only give him two yuan for his return fare. I heard from someone that he often borrows money from others. Today was just my turn.
At 7:30, Huang Kanglong and I went to Hong Kong to see Mr. Tu Ten Chixe’s classmates, Peers and Wan Ghu. After leaving school, we met Mr. He. I had set aside time to see him. He’s recovering from his illness. I dare say that soon he’ll be able to make up the Xintang work. He is the oldest of our classmates… and the worst. That’s okay. All of our classmates are heroic warriors.
“The first day of March”
Today is the beginning of this month. Who knows what’s going to happen for the remaining 30 days. I only know that today was not an easy day to get through! Although I did not go out in the morning, I wrote a lot of church letters at work. In the afternoon I started visiting the saints. When I came to the Diamond Hill for the first time, I met Mr. He Tongan on the way. Mr. He is a cartoonist. Although we have met several times before, we haven't talked much to each other in depth. Today, while walking and cracking jokes, together we visited a church member whose address was not very clear to us. As a result, we bumped into a Buddhist residence and visited it for a while. There was a lot of green grass, trees, beautiful fragrant flowers, and singing birds there. It was really a nice place to live! Among Hong Kong Buddhist quarters, there are actually quite a few good places.
In the evening, my classmate Xiao Qiquan came to me to borrow money. OMG! After I got my salary the day before yesterday, taking out the living expenses and paying the bills, even before I got up from the bed this morning, another friend of mine came to borrow 20 yuan from me. In desperation, I just gave him 2 yuan for his transportation fare and sent him away. Early on, I have heard many people say that he often borrowed money from others; looks like today was my turn.
At 7:30 pm, Huang Kangrong and I went to Hong Kong to visit my classmate Tong Tianci, while Mr. Huang Furu came along with us. We haven't met Mr. Tong since we left school. Today, we made a special trip overseas to visit him today. His illness seemed gone. He even dared to say that he would soon go back to work at the Da Pu New Chapel. He was the oldest in our class and the one with the worst health. After he gets well, all of our classmates, every single one, will be heroic soldiers in the Lord’s army!
