Today I open this new journal. I plan to do some simple planning regarding the things I need to do. I remember the same time last year, I also began annual planning for some of the classes that I was supposed to take at school, and some of the ministry matters. This year is different. I am writing from a preacher's standpoint. Many things are different than when you are attending school. Therefore, the planning will obviously be different. First thing, regarding my work, ministering is to serve others. Therefore, the first and foremost, I need to help and assist others in everything I do. This obligation can be rather complicated, but as long as I do my best, I believe it won't be too bad. In the past, I've seen so many ministers are lackadaisical with regard to their duty. Of course there are those who love the Lord truly and does what the Gospel preaches. Indeed, those are the few. Today is the beginning of my journey where I rely on the help of God to claim victory.
Second thing, regarding daily expenses, being paid for your work is unquestionable. From this year on, I will be paid accordingly. Therefore, I need to have a good plan. I know it could be very difficult to carry out. Therefore, the expectation should be low in order not to be discouraged. Point A. Reduce my annual living expenses. Due to the fact that I'm active, there are a lot of expenses associated with that. For example, every year, I would spend almost 50 Hong Kong dollars to mail letters to others. This is, by far, not a small amount. And this year, because of work, this amount should be reduced. But it might be difficult to cut back in other areas. Therefore, I should pay special attention to expenses. Point B. Increase the funding for those who love God. In the past because my income was little, and then I lived far away, so I was lacking in this area. Therefore, starting from this year, I want to make up for this shortcoming.
The third thing, regarding studies and learning. Point 1. My pursuit of music. Praise the Lord, that I was able to hire a well known musician to teach me. Professor Tsui Li Jong is teaching me. Even though the fees are a big burden, hopefully God will enable me to fulfill my dream. Point 2. Learn English. Even though I have not started, I realize that I need to have a solid plan in place in order to finish my lifelong goal. A new year is dawning. I hope my plan will be like it progressing forward so that at the end of the year, when I review these things, I can praise God for each. Amen.
