My father had 12 diaries written from 1956 - 1982. It was his intention for his kids to receive them after he passed away. When I discovered the diaries, I was blown away! Finally, I will be able to know the thoughts of my father!
My dad starts off his diary as a minister, full of enthusiasm about the journey ahead of him, but I know that he ends up straying far off course drastically. I've always wondered why my dad lived such an extreme life. Now I might be able to find out.

I will upload his diary entries one entry at a time, with the help of my husband who will be my translator. It takes my husband a lot of work to translate each entry, because my dad's writing is a little hard to read, so I am very thankful for him. This also means that I will have to digest each page slowly, instead of be able to pore through each book by myself.
Update on 10/25/10: On inspection of the 12 diaries that my dad left for me, it has dawned on me that he has pruned his set of diaries that he left behind for me. It is obvious that the years between 1959 - 1965 are missing. And also 1972 (the year I was born), and several years in the 70's and after 1982. It makes me sad that I can't have all his diaries even though I know that those are the years in his life where he probably had the most regrets. But I guess I should respect his wishes to leave behind only his better memories to remember him by.
