At night there was a Bible study class. Mr. Li originally asked me to teach, but Minister He decided to teach, so I let her. Afterwards, I went to the third floor and saw some class was still going on, so I stayed around and waited. After the class, Miss Yen Wei Hen came to our dorm and sat around for a long time and joked around. From her words, I learned that the girls in Hong Kong are full of idle chatter. The theme is always about romance and dating.

Jan. 13, 1956 - Dong To Village - Three Areas of Neglect
Dong1 To2 Village is a corner in Kowloon city. This place became a place of neglect ("bu4 gwan3") in three respects. The district of Kowloon was a British colony during the opium war, except for the city of Kowloon which was still under Chinese governance. Eventually even the city of Kowloon became a British colony except for this small section of Kowloon called Dong To Village - Ghost place ("gwei3 di4 fang1"). It isn't under British control, but does it belong to China? Not really, because the Chinese government doesn't care. Therefore this place became the way it is right now. You might as well call it a city of evil because of the lack of governance, it is filled with sin and evil. There is theft, prostitution, and many unlawful deeds. Today, I came to this place to visit a friend. As usual, I saw and heard evil. I didn't know how to feel. Somehow my heart was filled with fear, therefore I quickly walked past the place.
