A slaughterhouse in To Kwa Wan
To Kwa Wan is a corner of the Ju Long area near the sea. There are all kinds of manufacturing plants there; industrial manufacturers, cotton mills and many more. In addition, there is one slaughterhouse. I have heard that it is the largest one in Hong Kong. I remember being there about four years ago for business or some small job. I can't remember exactly why. I was there again today after a gap of four or five years. In that short time, there has been a great change. Not only have the families in the surrounding area changed, everything has changed. Today, I was doing holy work, preaching here. I stayed with Mr. Lee. I saw many customers and people riding bikes. They all looked fierce, covered in blood. When I saw what they looked like, I knew they must be butchers. On both sides of the road, there are many things. There is a house made out of straw mats. Inside there are stalls for cows and pigs. I saw the cows all thin and dying tethered there. They don't feed them anything. Mr. Lee said that some are from Mongolia and some are from India where cows live in the home. When they get old, they will be slaughtered and die. Alas! How cruel!
