April 15, 1956 - A little girl from Guangzhou

 A little girl from Guangzhou

We were in fellowship this evening when the doorbell rang.  I thought it was over there at #327 so I went to open the door.  I looked around twice. Strangely, there was no one there.  We went back to the chapel to sit and listen to the sermon.  The doorbell rang again.  I really thought it was strange.  I listened carefully.  Where did the sound come from?  Aha!  It turned out to be the bell on Dr. Jia's side in Building 367.  I was always looking to see why it sounded like this and I thought that no one was answering the door.  I walked up to the little girl I saw there and told her there was no one at home.  She would have to wait.  She was out of breath and sweating profusely.  She replied that she had come to Hong Kong tonight to find a friend.  As a result of the conversation, it turned out that she had come to find her sister who worked in Hong Kong.  Later, she told me that she had just come from Guangzhou.  Unfamiliar with Hong Kong, she had come to the wrong address.  When our meeting was over, I took her to find what she was looking for.
