March 25, 1956 -

Most of the churches in Hong Kong today are known for translation.  There is no translation from Cantonese into Chinese.  It is necessary to translate Chinese into Cantonese.  In short, translation is required at any large gathering.  In the past, Chinese translation for the church was done by Dong Zhaoling.  Later, a lot of people asked me what he was saying.  They didn’t understand but I never brought it up.  I’m doing the Lord’s work.  I brought it up for discussion at yesterday’s meeting and it turned out that several colleagues felt the same way.  Dong Zhaoling is a native of Hunan.  His speech is full of vernacular.  In addition, they said that his language was neither clearly Chinese nor the Hunan dialect.

On January 1st,  I officially took up the Ministry’s ministry.  Logically, I should be responsible for the translation but Mr. Li Chao Lang had bad thoughts.  He would rather just get started working and did not let me serve yesterday.  After the Assembly today, I began serving as the church Chinese interpreter.  Although there is no Chinese translation used in the nighttime preaching, John told me that it seemed like I felt a little uncomfortable.   It could be because it was my first time.  It will be better later.  May the Lord lead me.  Use what I do to bring glory to God
